Festival at Night

Away from the stage, the illuminated Rock in Rio sign stood above a crowd that had settled into many separate activities. Some people watched, others talked or checked their phones, and more continued moving through the space. By then, the scale of the festival and the fatigue of spending hours inside it were both visible. I photographed this in-between part of the night because attending a large festival also means navigating the crowd, waiting and deciding where to go next, not only watching performances.
